About Me

I joined the US-Japan Council (USJC) in 2014 and then participated in the USJC Emerging Leaders Program in 2015. USJC was the brainchild of the late Hawai’i Senator Daniel Inouye and his vision to create a strong and vibrant community of leaders from both the US and Japan to jointly address issues of mutual concern. In the years since, USJC has changed me and offered me a way to connect deeply with fellow USJC members, who range in background, profession, and age/life experience, and with whom I share a deep passion for improving US-Japan relations and embracing our shared Japanese heritage. Whether it’s through Annual Conferences that bring both sides of the Pacific together to address key issues that range from economics to politics to culture, to youth summits that focus on the organization’s under-40 young professionals, to outreach and allyship to address and improve race relations in the US starting with ourselves, USJC has facilitated my growth as a young professional and created a strong community across both the US and Japan. Please help me support USJC and all of its endeavors to build strong and enduring connections across the Pacific.

More Info

For the past seven decades, a strong U.S.-Japan relationship has been revered as a deeply valuable asset by both countries, no matter the state of global affairs. 2020 has brought forth new challenges - a global pandemic, economic strain, and political shifts.

The scope and pace of change like this can be overwhelming. But USJC is harnessing these forces to energize us and innovate our thinking. We are committed, now more than ever, to investing in the people who will continue to strengthen and prioritize our partnership.

The foundation of the Council was built upon personal relationships fueling transformative leadership and global advances. Whether it’s in the boardroom, over a shared meal, or on a Zoom call with attendees from across the Pacific, true innovation happens when bonds are created person-to-person, people-to-people.

Join us to help fund our new and timely campaign- #USJCPeopleToPeople

Our goal is to raise $25,000 between October 15 and December 5.

Your support will help ensure that USJC can continue to facilitate the people-to-people connections needed to advance business, politics, and community right now.
