Madison Francis: El Paso Special Olympian Madison Francis is a Clint High School Student who has been competing since Elementary School. Francis participates in the 50m tricycle Race, the 10m, 25m, and 30m manual wheelchair race as well as the softball throw. Francis is described as a competitive athlete who is fun and loving and who cares about everyone, she crosses paths with.
Manuel Figeroa: El Paso Special Olympian Manuel Figeroa has been competing since Elementary School. Figueroa goes to Clint High School and participates in the 50m, 100m dash, and softball throw. Figueroa is described as a hardworking, determined, and competitive athlete with a huge heart!
Elizabeth Venegas: Elizabeth Venegas is a Texas State Champion Special Olympian from El Paso. She competes in volleyball, gymnastics, bowling, batchi, and track and field. KTSM asked Venegas what her favorite part of competing is. “Being around my friends, being included,” she said. Explaining the impact donations make for special Olympians like herself. “Most athletes don’t have money, or they don’t have transportation to get to sports, so all the money goes to that,” she added. Venegas is working to get qualified for the Texas Special Olympic State competition this coming fall in Midland Texas.
