About Me

Hello! My name is Stanley Evans, and I am a board member here at The Urban Farm. I am a big advocate for the use of technology in agriculture. I believe that the next generation of farmers will have a deep knowledge of the land and an understanding of the technology that allows them to make the best decisions and automate their work so they may focus on the big problems we face in our food systems.

Hello! My name is Stanley Evans, and I am a board member here at The Urban Farm. I am a big advocate for the use of technology in agriculture. The next generation of farmers will have a deep knowledge of the land and an understanding of the technology that allows them to make the best decisions and automate their work to focus on more significant problems.

This fundraising campaign is to help our organization take that next step forward. Whether it is for monitoring crop systems, building and providing a curriculum for our students, or establishing more opportunities for you to connect with us online, your gift will enable our future!

TUF hosts over 100 animals including horses, goats, poultry, and sheep, as well as a riding arena, community garden, aquaponic greenhouse, hydroponic Freight Farm, and .75 acre vegetable farm. TUF provides a truly unique and enriching opportunity for the urban community to engage in agriculture in the city.

While other organizations may focus on horticulture, animal husbandry, or equine education, TUF is unique in offering them all on one site to create a holistic and dynamic learning environment. On any day of the week, you can find a school group touring the chicken coop, a family working together to clean a stall, or an intern measuring the water’s pH in the greenhouse. Our wide range of programs and activities include a horsemanship program; livestock clubs; field trips; distance learning; apprenticeships; after school classes, summer camps; youth leadership programs; and community events.

In 2020, TUF began a Master Planning process to revision the farm's 23-acre property and provide a road map to guide future development and design so TUF can better serve our community into the future. The master plan considers everything from livestock paddocks to security, pedestrian walkways to biodiversity, and more. Help us jump start these efforts and bring this plan to life by donating to The Urban Farm's 2021 campaign.
