Sunapee Destination Imagination - Striking Out Hunger

We are writing to ask for your help with two exciting ventures.  First, our group, Destination Imagination: Sunapee Super Seven Dwarfs set out seven months ago to help our community with the problem of hunger.  We talked to our community leaders, and found that this was the biggest problem in Sullivan County.  40,400 children in NH do not know where their next meal is coming from!  We decided we could help and started a challenge to raise 4,000 food items for the local area food pantries.  We designed reusable bags with our slogan, “Give Hope, End Hunger, Donate Cans” and gave them out to people who agreed to fill the bags at least once a month for a year to help bring more food to the food pantries.  So far we have collected more than 2,000 items of food as well as $500 in donations that we have already delivered to the local pantries!

The Second exciting venture is because of our project and how committed we are to it; we won the 1st place at the State Level Destination Imagination event on Saturday, March 29th in Nashua, New Hampshire!  We also won the prestigious DaVinci award for creativity in problem solving.  Because of this win we are able to go to the Destination Imagination Globals in Tennessee in May!  We are so excited and honored! There we hope to be able to bring awareness for our mission of ending hunger in our community to the national level. 

If you could commit to a donation, we would split any amount you can give so that half will go to our continued mission of helping the hungry and half would go to helping us on our way to the D.I. Globals in Tennessee.  We want to make sure our goal of getting food to people who need it is still our most powerful message.   We can give you a tax ID number if you would like to donate.
