I was first introduced to this crisis on a bright September Saturday morning. I thought it would be 'nice; to take a few comforts down to the 19th precinct police station. I was nowhere near prepared for what I saw when I arrived. It knocked me off my feet! 

Hundreds of people – many of them children - crammed side by side together in less than pleasant conditions. It was then that I realized that no one was there for them. No matter what the city of Chicago claimed.

Since then, we’ve organized. We’ve gathered and distributed HUNDREDS of bags of coats, clothing, blankets, and shoes. We’ve run countless errands to bring medicine to sick children and families. We’ve taken them to Emergency Rooms/doctor visits.. you name it! And we’re just getting started. We’re talking about human beings here.. respect and dignity. After all –
