After suffering a glancing blow from Cat5 Hurricane Irma on 6 September, Puerto Rico took a direct hit from Cat4 Hurricane Maria only 3 weeks later. The already damaged infrastructure was virtually destroyed. To this day, less than 20% of the island has electrical power and without it no running water that is safe to drink. Noemi, who lives close to a large river, had her house completely flooded and the majority of her furniture damaged beyond repair. This fund will be jointly managed by Sherry H, Ron B, Molly B, and Scott L. We will ensure your kind donations get to them and their families to help both with immediate needs as well as re-building. It's going to be a long road to recovery and nobody is sure when things will ever seem "normal" again. Puerto Rico has a long and proud history of courage and resolve...and not even Maria can take that away!! Thank you for your kind donations!
