I was a talented Alto Saxophone player in school. I was injured as a welder, never receiving Workman's Comp. Now I'm trying to work as a musician. For this, I need to expand my voice, so I need a new horn.

Thanks so much for your support! While I didn't meet the target of a new saxophone, I have decided to buy a new should strap, which will keep the weight off my neck, and a box of Van Doren reeds.
My passion for music started young; when I was 8 or 9, my eldest sister bought me a quality harmonica. Blues, Jazz, and Rock are my favorite genres to play. I chose saxophone in 5th grade. In 8th grade, my working single mother, seeing my growing talent and drive for music, bought me a Yanagisawa 901A professional horn for Christmas, and said I wasn't getting anything else for years after that. Out of HS, I tried to join the USAF band, but I couldn't run the miles in Basic Training. So, I picked up odd work in factories, had a sweet security gig for awhile, but I kept practicing in my time off. Got a few small time gigs here and there and played solo on the streets of Cincinnati, but I had a hard time finding a band to play with.... and then my key pads all burst and I needed $500 for repairs; I had to give it up for awhile... until I moved back in with my parents, became a welder, got the horn fixed with my first month's pay... I did that for over a year. It was hard manual labor, and in the fifteenth month there, I fell and injured my spine. Awful. Couldn't run, and walking hurt. After a lot of expensive healthcare, I'm pain-free, but still can't run or lift like I used to.I still pick up my alto sax quite a bit, and when I play solos at open mic nights now, I'm good enough that I get invited to play with bands regularly. They absolutely ALWAYS request me to play tenor saxophone parts, and I keep having to tell them that I don't have one, and that leads to my being "out" of the bands for performances. This instrument would breathe fresh life into my practice, expand my musical voice, and could lead to a successful career as a musician. www.facebook.com/A-Tenor-Sax-for-Thomas-Loman-1420331744951370/
