Thanksgiving Dinner for the kids of Synergy House

From Layne O'Dell-Richardson

Christopher and I have volunteered to make a Thanksgiving feast for the kids who are living at Synergy House. If you can, we'd love if you could help us provide the meal and raise extra money to go to Synergy Services.

More Info

Synergy House is a short-term emergency shelter that serves young people ages 12-18 who are in crisis due to abuse, neglect, running away, abandonment and homelessness. Placement and intervention services are also offered to families in crisis.

These teens have been removed from or run away from abusive situations, have been kicked out or run away from homes that didn't accept their sexuality or gender identity, have been abandoned or left homeless.  Synergy House provides a temporary shelter while long-term housing and help can be found for them.

In what must be a very difficult time in their lives, we wanted to give them a special Thanksgiving dinner to give them a bit of normalcy during the holidays and to give them a meal cooked with love.

If you are feeling charitable this holiday season, we would love if you could help us to pay for the food we will be preparing for the kids and staff.  If we were able to collect any funds above and beyond what we need to provide dinner, additional funds will all be donated to Synergy Services.

Thanks!

On the menu:  Smoked turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, brown and serve rolls, pumpkin pie, apple crisp and a veggie tray.

Additionally, to dress up the table and make the meal a little more special, we will be decorating the tables with items from our friends at Ultrapom Event Rentals.
