The Tony E. Colden, Jr Memorial Scholarship is intended to help youth in the greater Richmond, Virginia area further their dance education. This scholarship will be awarded to deserving dance students, age 10 and up.
Tony E. Colden, Jr of Portsmouth Virginia began his dance training at the young age of five. He began learning genres ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, and African dance at The Gail Harts Dance Company, and later continued his education in the magnet dance program at Churchland High School. Tony earned his BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation, Tony worked with the Starr Foster Dance Company, Studio 4 Dance Agency, and Henrico High School in the Center for the Arts Program. Most recently, Tony taught at Chesterfield Dance Center, coached at Virginia Union University and conducted workshops and guest artist residencies through the Studio 4 Dance Agency.
