World Youth Day 2023, Steve Heine

As a postulant for the brothers' branch in the Community of the Beatitudes, I have been invited to help lead the Community's group of young Americans at World Youth Day (WYD), 2023!  Along with Father Nilson, the coordinator of the Community's house in Denver CO, I will be guiding our small group of Americans in prayer, fellowship, and adventure during the WYD events.  

We will begin the journey with the Community's other groups in Coimbra, Portugal.  There we will encounter young people from all over the world!  This first week will be the Community's festival of youth, "Open Heaven," which is the annual meeting of youth that the Community normally hosts in France.  There will be groups from all 5 continents, it is sure to be an enriching experience!!

Following "Open Heaven," the groups will travel south from Coimbra to Lisbon where the WYD events will officially take place, to further live out this holy adventure together.

Your donation here will help the Community pay for my travel costs (an estimated $1,500), which will in turn allow us to allocate those funds toward decreasing the cost for our young adults.  Every dollar raised will decrease the cost of their trip!
